Some ideas for an unforgettable New Years' Eve

Martina Meneghetti

For everybody vacation are the best moment, we can relax, enjoy our free time, visit new places, wonderful and exotic places. But not for everybody vacations are the paradise they were looking for, in many cases setbacks are in the offing.

This summer 2009 has already claimed many victims, first of all passengers of airlines Myair and SkyEurope, remained on the ground or even stuck in an airport in some foreign country. And we certainly cannot forget the baggage chaos at the airports of Rome and Milan, the huge flight delays and also the delays in delivery the luggage. These enormous inconvenience adds to the problems of money spent and that probably will never be recovered. Unfortunately for consumers in these cases does not remains much to do. The only way to avoid these setbacks is to rely only on agencies of confidence, with proven experience. And maybe check in advance if the air carrier has got any financial troubles or not.

After this disastrous summer, between delays and lost luggage, it is better to look ahead and think about the next trip. A very popular tourist destination for new Years’ Eve is Barcelona. Barcelona is without doubts one of Spanish cities with the most active nightlife, also in winter the temperature hardly goes down to zero. For this reason it is certainly a really ideal destination, full of beautiful places to visit, but also locals and clubs of all kinds. You can see the Sagrada Familia, La Rambla, the Barri Gothic or even Mount Tibidabo. But Barcelona is also known as the city that never sleeps, each neighborhood offers a wide range of locals, depending of which one is more popular at that time.

If you do not want to be dragged in crazy dancing, perhaps you are better fit for other cities. A good idea would be to go and visit the Christmas markets in some cities in northern Italy, Germany or Austria. These can offer a truly traditional Christmas atmosphere, plus the opportunity to purchase fabulous ites in theme with this time of year, as warm wool handmade hats and sweaters, original Christmas tree ornaments, candles, essences and so on.

A lot of travel agencies organize this type of travel, even for a week end or a few days. If these ideas have teased you, try to search on the web for these offers, but be extra careful not to incur setbacks, using not serious operators. Or you can also contact your agency, who will certain offer a package suited for your needs. Before leaving, you may want to pay for some kind of medical and baggage insurance, useful to compensate you in case some unfortunate incidents happen, and almost essential when travelling outside EU countries.

It is not too early to think about this trip, if you want it to be memorable. Do not think of it at the last minute or you will have to be content or stay home!
