Collins' 'Antichrist' gaffe may hurt hopes

Collins, the Erie County, N.Y., Executive, said to be exploring a Republican run for the governor's office, has apologized to New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver for what he called a poor joke. However, political observers say the fallout from the statement may have harmed his chances, The Buffalo News reported Monday.

U. of New Mexico faces suit on doctor

The unnamed woman's attorney, Lisa Vigil of Albuquerque, N.M., sent the letter to UNM's legal counsel putting the school on notice her client will sue over the alleged actions of Dr. Robert Katz, vice president for clinical affairs at the UNM Health Sciences Center, the Albuquerque Journal reported Monday.

Two men arrested in alleged terror plot

David Coleman Headley and Tahawwar Hussein Rana have been in U.S. custody for several days while officials continued their investigation, the U.S. Justice Department said in a release Tuesday.
