Happy Holidays! On behalf of the Governing Board and District Administration, I extend our warmest wishes for the holiday season and thank you for your continued support of our District. This special time of year is a wonderful time to celebrate with family and friends. The Marana Unified School District is pleased to be a part of this community and thanks you for placing your trust in us. The degree to which a school district thrives is dependent on the level of support received and the tireless dedication of so many. Thank you for your active role in the success of our students, our staff, and our schools. With everyone's active involvement and support, we will continue to make our schools even greater in the New Year. As we reflect upon the past several months and all that we have to be thankful for, we also look forward to the New Year and the endless opportunities that await our District. If your household qualified in past school years or your child is new to the school district, please contact 520-682-4734. Eligibility is determined by household size and income criteria. Children from households whose income is at or below the levels set by the USDA Child Nutrition Program are eligible. Foster children who are under the legal responsibility of a foster care agency or court are eligible for free meals regardless of income and should be included on your application. All children in households receiving benefits from SNAP, the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations or TANF, can get free meals regardless of your income. Calling all Girls!
In January, we will be starting a Girls Who Code club at Marana Middle School. The first meeting will take place on Thursday, January 25th from 4:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The initial meeting will primarily be informational. The club will meet every Thursday from 4:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., with the last meeting taking place on May 17th. The club will be open to young ladies who attend Marana Middle School. We are very excited to be starting a new program at Marana Middle next semester, Mrs. Caldwell, a former MUSD principal, has joined are staff and we are thrilled! Mrs. Caldwell has terrific connections with students! She will be teaching three Project SOAR classes for students who need additional assistance with behavior management in classes. This is a wonderful addition to the many services we currently offer our students. | |

| Principal Message | | Falcon Families, The end of the 1st semester is near! We have accomplished so many great things as a community. Our students have performed in the classroom, on the stage, and on athletic fields. They have learned many lessons and continue grow and improve. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! | | Falcon Shout-Out & Celebration | | I would like to recognize Mrs. Angela Taylor for the work she has done with our Code to the Future program. Students are learning skills that will prepare them for the job market of tomorrow. Mrs. Taylor worked diligently to prepare for the  CTTF Epic Build Showcase and it was a HUGE success! Falcon Family Athletes: It's time to register your students for 3rd Quarter Athletics! Available sports for 3rd quarter include Boys Soccer, Girls Basketball, and Wrestling. The deadline for online registration is December 15th. Payment is due by November 21st. The cost for each sport is 60.00. To participate in athletics, students must complete a RegisterMyAthlete profile, submit a sports physical, and pay. We ensure that students understand that when reporting a fellow classmate's concerning behavior, the goal is intervention, not punishment.
