Where does a comet get its tail?

Tiny dust particles surround a comet. They are swept into a long tail by the solar wind, which consists of subatomic particles speeding from the sum at speed of hundred of miles per second.

How does the parrot fish make sand?

A large Caribbean parrot fish excretes a ton of sand a year. Using two oversized front teeth, it nibbles on seagrass and scrapes algae. Another set of teeth in its throat grinds up the coral it ingests.

Was Mark linked to Halley's Comet?

When Mark Twain was born on November 30, 1835 – Halley's comet was visible in the sky over Florida, Missouri. Aware that he was born when Halley's comet was visible, Mark Twain predicted in 1909 that he would die when it returned. He was right. When Mark Twain died on April 21, 1910, Halley's comet was once again visible in the sky.

How many strings does a piano have?

The average medium size piano has about 230 strings, each string having about 165 pounds of tension, with the combined pull of all strings equaling approximately 18 tons.

How deep should your birdbath be?

The optimum depth of water in a birdbath, says the Audubon Society of America, is two and a half inches. Less water makes it difficult for birds to take a bath; more makes them afraid.
