Police: Mosque firebombing a hate crime

Police were called to the Islamic School of Hamilton Monday morning around 8 a.m. when its principal, Zakir Patel, found a shattered brown bottle and a smoldering fire that had apparently burned itself out, The Hamilton Spectator reported.

Teacher told not to sell evangelical novel

Steven Arizmendi, a sixth-grade science teacher at Junior High School 220 in New York's Brooklyn borough, sold copies of an evangelical novel, He Came to Set the Captives Free, to four students for $5 apiece and loaned copies to eight others, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.
