Man charged with 1972 killing

A prosecutor in Rochester, N.Y., said James Kimble was caught by technology that did not exist 37 years ago when he allegedly broke into Annie Mae Cray's home, killed her and beat her husband unconscious, the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reported. First Assistant District Attorney Sandra Doorley said Kimble's DNA matched that found on a blanket that had been preserved as evidence.

Prop 8 lawyer David Thompson vigorously cross-examined Yale University Professor George Chauncey during testimony at a federal trial in San Francisco challenging the legality of the voter-approved 2008 state Constitution amendment, which defines marriage as between a man and a woman, The San Jose (Calif.) Mercury-News reported.

Woman, 106, forced out of home

The High Court refused to stop or delay the closing of Underhill House in Bushberry, West Midlands, the Daily Mail reported. The Wolverhampton Council had decided to close the home because bringing it up to modern standards would be too expensive.
