Obama's first-year 57 percent approval low

When Obama took office, his initial approval ratings were among the highest Gallup measured, the Princeton, N.J., polling agency said. Obama's lower job approval in the third and fourth quarter pulled down his earlier, higher ratings.

Boy, 5, survives fall down elevator shaft

DeKalb County Fire Capt. Eric Jackson said the boy, whose identity was not released, was hospitalized with unspecified injuries after falling down the elevator shaft at a Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority station, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
