arbcombo -- Request for Proposals on the Economics of Climate Change

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) is announcing new
research contract focused on the Economics of Climate Change.
This funding opportunity is open to researchers affiliated with
the University of California or California State University
systems.

AB 32, the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, designated ARB
as the lead regulatory agency charged with oversight of carbon
emissions generated by and associated with the California
economy. These emissions come from a diversity of sources -
transportation, electric generation, transmission and
consumption, real estate development, manufacturing, agriculture
and land use - and the establishment of appropriate regulation
will require a nuanced understanding of the dynamics which govern
the interactions of these sources and emissions pathways. To
this end, ARB has prioritized the funding of high quality
research whose findings are relevant for designing AB 32’
carbon mitigation regulations and evaluating these regulations'
impact on the California economy.
