arbcombo -- (CORRECTED PHONE NUMBER):Diesel Exhaust After-Treatment Devices (DPF) class

The Air Resources Board (ARB) Training and Compliance Assistance
Branch invites you to participate in a new Diesel Exhaust
After-Treatment Devices (DPF) class.

Course #511: Diesel exhaust after-treatment devices including
diesel particulate filter (DPF) technology are in the forefront
of California's Diesel Risk Reduction Program. Retrofit DPF's
has been verified by ARB to effectively reduce diesel emissions
from diesel-fueled internal combustion engines by at least 85%
and original equipment manufactured devices help achieve the 0.01
gram per brake horsepower particulate matter (PM) on-road
standard. This course discusses diesel particulate matter and
their health effects; diesel engine PM and NOx production and
control strategies; DPF theory, operation, construction, and
application; as well as regulations requiring particulate
filters. Topics include: diesel oxidation catalysts, continually
regenerating traps, NOx catalysts, ammonia slip, selective
catalytic reduction, NOx adsorber catalysts in addition to
passive, active, online and offline regenerating strategies.
Also included in the course is an optional field trip the
following day to see real application of DPFs at a representative
facility to be announced at time of class.
