Andrew Mohebbi Perhaps many of us have had a time when we forgot something important during our trip. Imagine the inconvenience of going back home after realizing that we forgot our passport. We may end up missing the flight or if we do make it in time, we become so stressed and frustrated in our travel abroad. Because we don't want to repeat an experience such as this, we may commit the mistake of over-packing. We bring almost anything and everything that it looks like we're migrating. This tendency to over-pack is especially true for women. A common misconception is that women's essential belongings are necessarily more compared to men. Packing light however, applies to anybody regardless of sex. Expert travelers often speak of the benefits of packing light. This holds true whether we are preparing for an overseas travel or just a local one. Bear in mind that we would carry our belongings more often than what we would assume. Thus, heavy and numerous luggages would greatly impede our mobility. We are also less able to protect our belongings from being stolen. Never forget your medical kit. It doesn't have to be extensive, just bring the basics like band aids, aspirin, etc. First and foremost is to limit our belongings to a single bag. This may sound outrageous to some, but we must keep in mind that it is a just a short trip. The aim of the trip is to enjoy new sights and experiences. Rather than preparing for every possible contingency and therefore ending up with too much to bring, pack for the best scenario instead. An overseas travel becomes even more exciting when we are able to practice our resourcefulness and ingenuity. We should ask ourselves what are the things that we could not possible do without. If the item in question passes the test, then include it in the things to be brought. We should only bring small amount of toiletries with us. There is no need to worry if we run out of toothpaste, for we can surely purchase one along the way. Those who frequently travel abroad are well aware that their preferred item or brand is usually available in other parts of the world. Another thing that should be considered is clothing. That's because it usually takes up most of the space of our luggage. Contrary to popular opinion, we don't need to bring a lot of clothes. Three shirts and two pairs of pants would be enough. How? Wash them on the way. It is therefore important to choose clothes that dry easily. Finally, our luggage shouldn't be so full that it's ready to burst. If we pack right, there should be enough space left for us to put souvenirs. By following these simple travel packing tips any trip would be rewarding. ======== Are you planning to go on vacation and have fun while travelling?
