March 23, 2020 Dear MUSD Parents/Guardians, During this time of uncertainty, we appreciate your ongoing support, trust, and patience as we continue to monitor and adapt to the circumstances surrounding the coronavirus. Our thoughts are with you and our students as this unprecedented health crisis affects all of our lives, families, and communities. Below please find a variety of important updates. Please also know that we will continue to share information in the upcoming days and weeks as more guidance is provided from the State and additional details are determined. Online Learning Resources While there is no direct instruction by Marana educators this school week, families can engage students in a variety of supplementary educational online resources/activities to support student at-home learning. As promised, please click here for educational online resources/activities and contact information regarding technical and parent support. This is not a comprehensive list, but rather a starting place for students to engage in some educational experiences. Some of these sites will be familiar to students as they are currently using them in their classrooms. We have also included some additional links that will take students on a virtual tour of museums, National Parks, and other fun educational interactive sites. It is not necessary to have students complete everything on this list, but rather a way to experience some learning and exploration online throughout their day. Remember that there should be a healthy balance between online and offline learning, reading books, physical activities, creative time, downtime, etc. What is most important during this time is for our students to feel comforted and loved. Please know that we are continuing our planning efforts related to the general educational opportunities students will have next week. EXPANDING! MUSD Questionnaire - Childcare for Essential Workers Our District is in the planning stages regarding the provision of child care for Essential Workers (first responders, essential healthcare workers, and military personnel), as aligned with the Governor's request. If you fit within the essential worker category and are in need of childcare during school closure, please take a minute to complete this Childcare Questionnaire Form by noon on Wednesday, March 25. This information will help the Marana district determine the feasibility of opening and providing Learning, Enrichment and Play (LEAP) services on a limited basis. The District will continue to share more information regarding this in the near future. I encourage you to continue to visit the District Website coronavirus webpage at www.maranausd.org/coronavirus, #maranaschools Facebook and Twitter, and download our Mobile App to stay current on all school closure information, Grab & Go Meals, resources, and updates.
