Good evening Mountain Lion family,

"No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow." (unknown) There are certain inevitable things in our lives. This quote reminded me of that. Spring is coming. Sure, we will have cooler days ahead but we also know that spring is around the corner. The smell of orange blossoms is the one thing that makes me anticipate this time of year more than any other. We have other dates we remember, such as Tax Day, and around Mountain View, our Graduation ceremony. But, for now, let's enjoy the coming spring and the wonderful weather it will bring to us.

I have a request from the front office regarding student pick-up late in the day. We are asking for parents to please let us know by 2:30 p.m. if they are picking up their child before the end of the day. Once 2:30 comes, our monitors are working the gates and we are limited on staffing which makes it harder to collect students. Thank you in advance for your help with this concern.

Testing is also on the horizon. Keep an eye out for more information regarding our state assessment calendar and when each of the grade levels will be testing. These are important data points for our Arizona school letter grade and ask for our students to come prepared and ready to demonstrate their learning and growth over the past year. Again, thank you in advance for your help with this as well.

We are asking, on behalf of our amazing Grad Night committee, for donations to help support this great night. At this time, the committee is looking for gift cards from local merchants that can be given away at Grad Night. They are also open to help with the building process or other financial support. We appreciate your help in supporting this group.

Finally, our spring season for athletics is up and running. Please come to campus and celebrate our students as they compete for Regional and State recognition. Best of luck to all of our spring athletes.

Have a great week!

Parents and Students,

Office Hours for Mountain View are 7:00 AM to 3:45 PM

Students and Parents - The D-wing gate will be the only gate open in the morning, please pull forward to drop off your student. Students without a Zero Hour will be allowed on campus at 8:00 AM. Students arriving late after last bell will need to go to the front office to enter campus.

With our increased security measures, students being picked up early need to enter the office near the library rather than the back office doors.

Please do not park in the first 10 stops in front of the JTED building. Those are reserved for the preschool. Also, please do not make any U-turns in that area.

Parents:
Just a friendly reminder that any ill student that needs to go home must report to the health office before calling a parent. They can call their parent from the office.
We will not send passes up if parent arrives before the student reports to the health office.
Student may ask their teacher for a health office pass.

Parents, if your child is ill and you call them out as such, please keep them home. This will keep the germs from spreading.

A Note from the Attendance Office

When a student's absence or late arrival may be excused, the parent/guardian should communicate with the Attendance Office so that the absence or late arrival will be appropriately recorded.

"STUDENT ABSENCES"

In order to request that an absence be excused, the parent/guardian must call and leave a message on the Attendance Line within 24 hours of the absence. The Attendance Line voicemail is available 24/7 at 520-579-4444.

"STUDENT LATE ARRIVALS"

Unless excused, a student's late arrival(s) are recorded as "Unexcused Tardy/Late". If a parent/guardian would like to request that the late arrival(s) be excused, the parent/guardian must either come into the school with the student and provide the late excuse to the Front Office staff, or call the Attendance Line voicemail at 520-579-4444 and leave a "request to excuse" message for the late arrival. Please note: the Attendance Office does not contact parents/guardians regarding late arrivals.
