| Brenda Williams Now, more than ever, people are beginning to realize the value of their car and are trying to figure out ways to preserve the life and longevity of their vehicle so that it will be around for a while. We can thank a slumped economy for this one! However, this is a good thing as it will hopefully teach more of us the value of saving money and figuring out different ways to stretch our dollars.
In the meantime, while many of us are on the whole 'saving money' kick, part of the deal includes still trying to find the time to enjoy an occasional break from the monotony that work can sometimes provide. Therefore, vacations are still in order. However, because so many of us are focused on saving as much of that green stuff that we can, we are opting to stay closer to home or are trying to figure out ways of transporting ourselves to our vacation destinations without spending a ton of cash on transportation.
That being said, there are many people who have discovered things such as timeshares. Take, for instance, the snowbirds who flock to Florida from New York every year (sometimes several times during the year). Because they will often stay at their final destination for weeks, sometimes months, at a time, they usually choose to bring their vehicles with them. However, rather than driving out all of the miles in their vehicle, they usually choose to have their cars shipped by using a car transport company.
There are all sorts of great reasons to ship your car. For starters, you don't have to worry about having to drive your car in all of the hours of traffic that lay ahead of you. Additionally, you can usually save yourself a ton of money in the long run. After all, just think about how much money you would have to spend in order to make sure that your car was fueled up for a sixteen hour trip! On top of that, there are other things to take into consideration such as the cost of staying at hotels along the way, food, and of course, the unexpected road repair. Believe me, it adds up quickly.
While there are still some of us out there who prefer to Griswold it by driving across the country to wherever it is we are going, the more practical thing to do nowadays is to simply ship your car and take a train, bus or plane instead. The thought behind this is that you will still get the convenience of getting to use your vehicle once you arrive at your vacation spot. The only difference is that you wouldn't have had to put thousands of miles of wear and tear on it in order to get it there. Not only does this save you money, but it will help you to preserve your vehicle for years to come. As a sort of aside, another benefit is that it cuts down on the pollution in the air that is often caused by too many people crowding the roadways in their cars.
