Shalit's father: U.S. holding up swap

Noam Shalit spoke Thursday with U.S. Jewish leaders in Israel for the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, The Jerusalem Post reported. He said the Obama administration fears that the proposed exchange would weaken Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

Missionary: Haiti jail not so bad

In an interview with CNN to be aired Friday, Jim Allen said Haitian police treated him and the rest of the group as well as they could expect given conditions in the country. While they had to sleep on the floor, Allen said, they were given a hot meal every day.
