At least 10 electrocuted in Nigeria

The passengers of the 18-seat Nisan Urvan bus and several people standing outside the bus were electrocuted Saturday, reported the Lago-based Nigerian newspaper The Punch Sunday. As many as 12 people were knocked unconscious or burned and taken to local hospitals.

Lebanon marks the death of Rafik Hariri

Hariri died in an explosion that left a 10-foot crater in a Beirut street. A United Nations investigation found links between Syria's government and the assassination, although Syria has denied any connection.

Official: 9/11 suspects will get trial


9:02 AM, February 14

One official, speaking off the record, told the Chicago Tribune the administration is deciding between multiple options on a venue for the trial. Attorney General Eric Holder wanted to try the five defendants in the federal courthouse in Manhattan, a few blocks from the World Trade Center site, but New York officials have complained of the expense of security there.

Sunnis protest Iraq's candidate ban

The Iraqi National Movement halted campaigning Saturday and hinted they would boycott next month's parliamentary elections if the ban was not reversed, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday.
