Today's Brain Teaser
Operation: Color-Ectomy
From Braingle.com

Six words have had their colors removed. The colors have been placed into Group A. The remaining letters of each word have been placed into Group B. Your task is to reconstitute the words by merging each color with the proper set of letters. Other than merging the two groups together, there is no rearranging of the letters. Example: sand + pne = spanned (SpANneD).

Group A: blue, brown, cyan, green, pink, red
Group B: agssivess, astr, bac, rstllie, snaer, urig

Today's Chess Challenge
By Pete Tamburro

Solve this Problem...

White to Play and Mate

This position is a real major league test of your chess skills. There's a mating attack here. Interestingly enough, it's from a grandmaster game between Beliavsky and Gelfand at Linares, 1992, and when White played his move here, Black resigned! One world class grandmaster telling the other, "You beat me, but I see the mate, too." Your challenge is to see what they saw. White has all his pieces pointing in the direction of the Black castled position. The position is pregnant with possibilities. We hope it gives birth to a mating idea in your mind. There are several paths here. Find the best one!
