arbcombo -- Woodsmoke Reduction Program

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has released Draft
Program Guidelines and the associated Quantification Methodology
for the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) Woodsmoke Reduction
Program for public comment. CARB is seeking public comment by
August 21, 2017.

methodology, please visit

The Woodsmoke Reduction Program will offer financial incentives
for homeowners to replace older, high-polluting wood burning
devices with newer, cleaner burning units. Replacing these
high-polluting, inefficient devices will significantly reduce
emissions of greenhouse gas emissions, particulate matter, black
carbon, and other air pollutants. This program is part of
California Climate Investments, a Statewide program that puts
billions of cap-and-trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas
emissions, strengthening the economy and improving public health
and the environment—particularly in disadvantaged communities.

CARB has developed a Draft Woodsmoke Reduction Program Greenhouse
Gas (GHG) Quantification Methodology and Calculator Tool to
estimate emission reduction of Woodsmoke Reduction Program
projects. The draft documents are available at:
https://www.arb.ca.gov/cci-quantification. CARB is accepting
public comments on the GHG Quantification Methodology and
Calculator Tool via GGRFProgram@arb.ca.gov

The 2016/2017 GGRF appropriation committed $5,000,000 for this
program. The program will be administered by CARB and
implemented by the California Air Pollution Control Officers
Association (CAPCOA) in coordination with local air pollution
control districts or air quality management districts. California
residents using uncertified wood stoves or inserts as their
primary heat source will be eligible for incentives towards the
purchase and installation of qualifying devices.
