Explicit 'pornaments' back on shelves

The decorations, dubbed pornaments by some when they triggered protests three years ago, have returned to the holiday ornament aisles of some shops, WJXT-TV reported Tuesday. Instead of a line of six sexually oriented ornaments, just the reindeer and snowmen are being offered this holiday season, the Jacksonville TV station said.

Florida man thought priest was terrorist


11:05 AM, November 11

Jason Bruce called 911 and told the emergency operator the bearded man wearing a robe he was holding down was a terrorist. Bruce's lawyer this week told the media the victim had either tried to rob his client or was sexually groping him.

Salvation Army sets giant kettle record

The charity said the kettle, which is made from 25,000 lights and stands at Campus Martius Park, has been certified as the largest on Earth by Guinness World Records, The Detroit News reported Tuesday.

Navajo Nation refuses to turn over suspect


5:05 PM, November 10

FBI agents left empty-handed Monday after a court hearing in Window Rock, Ariz., KRQE-TV in Albuquerque reported. Reehahlio Carroll, 18, was arrested last week by tribal police after being stopped for a traffic violation and is named in a federal warrant as the killer of Sister Margaret Bartz, who was found dead in her home in Navajo, N.M., on Nov. 1.
