No injuries after birds hit plane engine

No injuries were reported Saturday aboard the Airbus 319, which was en route to Denver with more than 120 people aboard, Frontier spokesman Steve Synder told The Denver Post in a story published Sunday. The bird strike occurred shortly after liftoff.

Improper disposal caused arms blast

Friday night's fire killed two people, injured at least a dozen others and damaged the homes of more than 100 residents of the city, RIA Novosti reported.

Britain to apologize to 'orphans'

Most of the children were sent to Canada and Australia and were put in institutions or treated as unpaid labor, while their economically deprived families were told they had gone to a better life, The Guardian reported Sunday. Many of the children, ages 3 to 14, were told they were orphans.

Obama calls for Suu Kyi's release

Obama called for the release of Suu Kyi and other political prisoners in Myanmar in a private meeting in Singapore with leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said.
