Good evening Mountain Lion families,
We are near the end of 2020. For some of you, the celebrations that ensued from that statement might have kept you from reading the rest of this message. However, that is quite understandable. For all of the "clarity" 2020 was supposed to bring to us it seems we have instead faced unimaginable challenges. The lack of clarity during this pandemic has made our lives extremely challenging, difficult at times, frustrating and I do believe we are all ready to turn the calendar over and begin 2021. We can make it a few more weeks. We can do this.
I have attached the bell schedule for the week of December 14th. This week is a regular week and next week we will follow the adjusted schedule. Note, too, that we are not in school next Friday as we begin the long awaited Winter Break!
As we are so close to the end, this is a very important time to look at ParentVue and reach out to teachers regarding any questions you might have regarding grades. Our teachers have been working very hard with their students to identify supports and interventions as well as ways to bring up their students grades. Although this has been a difficult semester and we know that this was hard on students and families, we do still have expectations for our students and our students need to turn in their work to provide accurate measurements of learning for their teachers.
Have a great week.
High School Athletics Update:
High School leaders met Friday to review the status of Winter Sports practices. In light of the current COVID-19 infection levels, we are going continue to pause practices for Winter Sports at this time. We are committed to the continued evaluation of conditions from week to week. If conditions permit, we do foresee permitting Winter Sports to resume conditioning practices on Monday, December 14, 2021. As you know, the AIA has postponed the competition season until January 5, 2021, it is our hope that we can remain on this timeline and begin competition with approval from Pima County Health Department.
The Parent/Guardian Commitment survey link is asking for a commitment from your family for the third quarter. Please fill out and submit ONLY one form for each student. Please complete the survey by Wednesday, December 9th.
Hybrid Attendance
If for any reason your student is unable to physically attend school on their "in person" learning day, and instead stays at home and attends classes via Zoom, please notify the attendance office. The attendance office will adjust the attendance indicators to acknowledge your student's remote presence in class.
During this Remote/Hybrid Learning, we are changing our attendance procedure
In Short:
- If your child is marked present for class, there is nothing to do.
- If your child is marked absent, and you can verify that s/he did engage with school work, complete and submit the form so we can reflect that in Parent and StudentVue.
- The form must be completed for each child separately.
- The form can be re-used, and must be submitted for each day that you wish to correct.
