The Juul is an e-cigarette that doesn't look like a cigarette at all. It actually looks like a flash drive (a cartridge); therefore parents and school staff often don't see them. The Juul is easily concealed and is literally charged in a laptop's USB port. The Juul has become quite popular among teens because they are discreet (very tiny, sleek, easy to hide even in their palm), easy to use, and is odorless. Teens think these are "safe" because it looks cool and comes in various flavors. Juuling is not safe and the Juul is certainly not allowed at school. This tiny device contains high nicotine, which is addictive and like vaping can still expose people to cancer-causing chemicals. Due to the discreetness of Juuling, schools are challenged with identifying and eliminating. As a result, we are reaching out to parents to request your assistance in educating your child about the risks of Juuling as well as reminding your child that there are disciplinary consequences associated with Juul use on campus - "improper use of substance." Please know that we take Juuling seriously and thank you in advance for your assistance with this. | Youth Volleyball Camp | Mountain View High School will be hosting THE VIEW volleyball camp from July 9th- 12th. Please see attached flyer for details. | Counseling Corner | Remember, we have counselors to assist students with their social / emotional needs. If you notice that your child seems stressed, angry, or sad, please reach out to our counselors so that we can offer support. | | Marana Middle School will provide an experience that fosters life-long academic and personal growth in a world-class education environment.
