Good evening Mountain Lion Family,

Happy New Year! Happy 2021. I am sure we are all grateful to be able to turn our calendar over and see January and a new year. There certainly was a lot to be thankful for in 2020 but we are also ready to move on to this new year and with great anticipation as to what is coming our way in 2021.

I have attached the bell schedule for the first three weeks of school while we are in a Remote Learning Model.

Some of you have inquired as to what the Academic Check-in time at the end of the day is and how that will work. Teachers should be available and be reaching out to students that struggled academically during the first semester or are having a difficult start to this semester. Parents and students may also reach out to their teachers for additional supports.

During the Remote Learning Model:

  • Students will be expected to use Google Classroom for their course materials. Zoom links will be provided on the Classroom page. Expect to Zoom for up to 25 minutes per class period, daily.
  • Student attendance is marked based on their attendance in Zoom and/or engagement in the daily work.
    • Teachers will enter attendance daily.
    • Students are expected to engage in the Zoom and assignments daily to meet attendance requirements. An absence indicates to a parent that the student is not engaging with the class at the expected time.
    • Students who do not log in to Zoom and who do not complete work during the class period should be marked absent by the teacher.

Below is some valuable information regarding our ParentVUE app. We reference this often as this app will allow you to see your child's grades.

MUSD COVID-19 Dashboard

Parents can now view a real-time tracking system of active and resolved COVID-19 cases throughout the District. The MUSD COVID-19 dashboard is refreshed every five minutes, so data will change as it is entered within our systems. To find the page quickly, you can bookmark it at https://www.maranausd.org/coviddashboard or navigate to it from the link on the Safe Return to School Page.

Back to School Updates from Pima County Health Department
The Pima County Health Department and Pima County Superintendent of Schools understand that parents, teachers, staff and students may feel apprehensive about physically returning to school. With this in mind, we created this message to remind everyone of best practices when schools reopen for in-person learning. We invite you to take note of this valuable information. Watch it: English version | Spanish version
