Good evening Mountain Lion families,

We are eager to begin Remote Learning with your child. It has been a long time since we've been able to provide learning opportunities to our students. Starting Wednesday, the long wait will come to an end and we will transition into our new remote learning model.

Between now and August 7th, you will be contacted by your child's Summit (homeroom) teacher. Our first goal is to connect and reconnect  with our new and returning students and their families.  Our second goal is to ensure that students have access to remote learning, and to provide support if this is not the case.

We also ask you to visit ParentVue and StudentVue for weekly updates on the lessons for the upcoming week. This will also be a way for you to remain connected with your student's learning opportunities.

Below and attached, you will find three items. First, we have included the schedule for the first three days of school. Second, we have shared with you the remote learning schedule for the remainder of the remote learning experience. Finally, we have created a remote learning expectation guide to assist parents and students with this transition.

Student Chromebook Accounts and Chromebook Security
Please see the two documents linked herein to receive information and support regarding student Google accounts, and the security systems we use to provide safe electronic learning.  The CB Deployment letter provides login information and support for questions and troubleshooting.  The MUSD Gaggle, Securly, Go Guardian letter describes the functions of these systems and provides direction for parent access.

Thank you very much and know that we are in this together. We can do this and we will do this as a Mountain View family. We will see you all on Wednesday!

Things to Know

From the MVHS Front Office,

Zoom Video On/Off Feature

At Mountain View, we believe it is important for students to join Zoom classes and meetings using the Video On feature.  Talking face to face with others helps to build connectedness and community.  Many times, it is that hint of a confused or anxious look that keys a teacher into the need to repeat a direction or to provide clarifying information.  Similarly, seeing students nod or smile lets teachers know that they are connecting with students.  Finally, when students work together, seeing each other, supports the work efforts and builds team relationships.

The expectation at Mountain View is that students will consistently use the Video On feature.  That being said, we recognize that for a variety of reasons a student or family may prefer that the student use the Video Off feature consistently or occasionally.  If a family prefers that the video feature be turned off, the family should contact their student's teachers so that the teacher is aware of the exception.

College, Career, Counseling

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year. While we cannot wait to see our students in person, we understand that as we start this school year remotely there are many unknowns. These unknowns and all the stressors that come with the COVID-19 outbreak may cause our students and families to experience high levels of anxiety and stress.

We strongly believe that schools are not just buildings and their physical closure does not stop our support. For this reason, it is essential for us to keep the lines of communication open. We want our school community to know that MVHS counselors are here to support their mental health and other needs, despite our school building being physically closed.

School counselors are available to both students and their guardians through phone and/or email. Please reach out to us with your questions or concerns.

Counselors are assigned by student's last names:
