Google earth
We are excited to provide a new instructional resource for teachers and students. On November 13, 2017 we will be providing access to the Google Earth application for student use. Through research and suggestions by teachers and staff, we have found that there are many added benefits to instruction when using Google Earth.
Google Earth can be used:
- to support hands-on inquiry by students.
- for dynamic presentations during class lectures.
- for inquiry during class presentations.
- to create imagery and maps for presentation tools.
- as a data discovery, organization, and distribution tool for research projects.
- to enrich discussion during a classroom discussion.
In preparation to enable Google Earth for student use, we are required to notify parents and obtain consent before allowing these users access.
If you prefer your child refrains from having access to Google Earth for the 2017-18 school year, please contact engage.parents@maranausd.org prior to November 13th. In the email, please provide the following information: student(s) name(s), student identification number(s) and school of attendance.
We appreciate your support and providing the best quality education for our students in the Marana Unified School District.
