March 26, 2021 Hello MUSD families, It has been an exhilarating week welcoming so many of our students back to our schools in-person! Our students were equally thrilled to return to class, interacting with fellow students and their teachers. I want to thank you for your patience and commitment to your child's education and well-being while navigating an extremely challenging year. In the final quarter of school, I want to emphasize the District's continued commitment to enforcing multi-layered mitigation strategies to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Yesterday, Governor Doug Ducey released a new Executive Order that rescinds a number of previous Executive Orders. It is important to note that this new Executive Order does not include or rescind Executive Order 2020-51, requiring masks in all K-12 schools, or the emergency order from Arizona Department of Health Services AZDHS Emergency Measure 2020-04 that requires school districts to have a face covering policy in place. As a result, face coverings remain a requirement at all Marana Unified School District schools and offices. The use of face coverings is a top mitigation strategy for safe in-person learning as recommended by the CDC. Face coverings must be worn on all MUSD school campuses and District offices, on school buses and during school-associated activities by all students, faculty, staff and visitors. Thank you for your continued support of MUSD, our teachers and students, and let's finish this school year out strong, together! Thank you, Daniel Streeter, Ed.D. Superintendent |
