 | Good evening Mountain Lion family, This is our third week in our hybrid learning model. Thus far, our students have done a great job following the mitigation plan and we have seen a commitment from everyone on campus to help us continue in-person instruction. We have spoken to a number of students that still find it strange to wear a mask at school but continue to do so and we appreciate their efforts. Our teachers have also been working harder than ever within this model. We know there are challenges when teaching in a hybrid model, and when this is coupled with synchronous learning on Zoom, the challenges become harder. We are grateful for the work each and every one of our teachers are doing to support learning in their in-person and virtual classrooms. We also are thankful for the support of our community. I have said it many times and will reiterate the message, we can only do this together. That said, we are also asking for some grace and kindness if we have to make calls home during this time. We do know that everyone has a lot happening in their lives right now and we also seem to be inundated with political calls and texts. Please remember if the school calls your home we are trying to collect needed information and appreciate your help with this process. With winter sports getting ready to begin, Southern Arizona Urgent Care is offering free sports physicals. Please visit https://southernarizonaurgentcare.com/ for more information. Also, all winter athletes need to go to https://registermyathlete.com/ to complete their profile, which will allow them to attend tryouts. Basketball, soccer and wrestling begin on November 9th. Have a great week and again, thank you. Veterans Day Week: Cohort Schedule The week after next, MUSD does not have school on Wednesday, November 11, in honor of Veterans Day.
In order to make sure that all students who have opted for in-person learning (hybrid) are able to attend two days of school that week, MUSD is making a slight change to the cohort schedule for this week only.
To minimize disrupting the schedules of all in-person (hybrid) learners, MUSD will have cohort A attend on Monday and Friday of that week.
Here is the schedule for in-person (hybrid) learners for Veterans Day Week: Remote learners will follow the schedule provided by their teachers on the weekly overview for that week. Please use the following steps in order to log into your Google Account: Freshmen, please note: Your user name has changed now that you are at MVHS. You must have mv after the @ to log into your account. - Password: Student's First Initial + Student's Last Initial + Full Perm ID (i.e., ab123456789). You will then be prompted to create a new password.

In order to best support your student's learning and safety, we believe that limiting non-emergency in-person visits to the Counseling Office is required. Emergency/Crisis situations will be seen immediately in person. Emergency Situations (Seen Immediately) - Student in emergency/crisis situations or dealing with anything that is making class impossible to attend will be seen in-person immediately
- Remote students in emergency/crisis situations, should call 520-579-4450 during school hours
- Life-threatening situations please call 911
We are here to support your student(s) and we will have many opportunities for zoom or phone call appointments during non-instructional time or after school hours (1:55-3:00). - Must have teacher permission, and are encouraged to have meetings during non-instructional time
We believe that this policy will provide mitigation for students and staff during this period and ultimately provide a safe environment for all. The scheduled start date for winter sports (basketball, soccer, and wrestling for boys and girls) is Monday 11/9. While we do not have clearance to start practice yet, we do anticipate being able to start next Monday. We highly encourage you to get cleared on RMA now so you are ready as soon as we are able to start. If you have a physical on file from last year, you only need to fill out the first 3 pages of teh physical form that is available on RMA. If you ae new to MVHS, you will need the complete physical.
