Good evening Mountain Lion families,

We are in our last week of the quarter. I feel I need to share that message again, this is the last week of the first quarter. We are nearing the finish line on an unprecedented time and greatly appreciate the incredible work of parents, students, teachers and staff during this time. We all had to play an important role in supporting the learning process. We joke often that we have a 4 inch thick binder ready for how to do this in the next pandemic. But, I also really wanted to say that we are grateful to all of you that have sent supportive messages during this time. We have never experienced anything like this before and have had to make adjustments along the way to support our students and parents as well as our teachers. Through it all, some of you have shared kind words that have helped us get to this point. Together, we will get through all of this and keep moving forward. Again, thank you!

Reminder: Thursday and Friday are half days with 1st, 3rd, and 5th periods meeting on Thursday and 0, 2nd, 4th and 6th meeting on Friday. Classes both days will end at 12:10.

A very important reminder:

The Marana Unified School District (MUSD) Return to School Task Force continues to plan for the Safe and Thoughtful Return to School, aligned with the Arizona Department of Education Roadmap for Reopening Schools and Governor Ducey's Executive Order 2020-51 - Arizona: Open for Learning. As we continue to plan for in-person learning beginning October 19, we are asking parents and guardians to make a commitment to help us finalize plans for in-person learning.  This commitment will be for the second quarter of the year (October 19 – December 17).

Please provide your input by completing the survey(s) that was sent to your students Gmail account last week. You may edit your response following the Governing Board meeting last week. At that meeting, the board voted in favor of our students returning in a hybrid model, and eventually transitioning into a five day per week in-person model.  Please complete and/or update the survey(s) by Monday, October 5, 2020. Please fill out one form for each student. If you are unsure about returning in the hybrid model as it transitions into the five day per week model, we suggest remaining in the remote model of instruction.

Prior to your student returning in-person on October 19, the Marana Unified School District is requiring parents to complete an acknowledgement and a waiver related to COVID-19.  Please see the attached letters and forms from Dr. Streeter.  These forms may be turned into Cecil or placed in the return to school box in the front office. Printed copies of the forms will be available in the front office if you need them.

Once again, we have opened up a store for you to purchase Mountain View gear. We have some great choices this year and here is the link for your store:
