 | Good evening Mountain Lion family, Welcome back! I hope everyone has had a safe summer and is ready to return to school. Although our school year will start differently than in previous years, we do look forward to opening Mountain View for the 2020-2021 school year. As was shared last week, we will begin our virtual learning on August 5th. There will be much more information regarding the virtual learning and schedule but want to share that we have had many meetings discussing the return to school and how to make the transition the best it can be for our students and your family. We are working out the details for Mountain Lion Days and for Elevate, our transition camp. Though these will look very different than they have in the past, we will provide an opportunity for students to interact with staff and be more prepared for their virtual learning experience. We are hopeful this will also help with the transition back to the classroom when that occurs as well. We know this is a challenging time, for some a scary time, and for others a time of reflection. Every conversation and decision that is made in MUSD is done so with a great deal of attention and purpose. We care deeply for your child's safety and that of your family. We want to provide the best possible instruction to all of our students. I also want to welcome our new superintendent, Dr. Dan Streeter, to our district. We are very excited to have Dr. Streeter join our family in Marana and know he will be great for our community. Take care and we look forward to seeing you all soon. In the meantime, we will share more information with you regarding school updates, Mountain Lion Days, Elevate and virtual learning. And remember, "the struggle you are in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow." (unknown) We will get through this and be stronger for the experience. We will, again, Defend the Den!
