Good afternoon Mountain View family,
I trust everyone had a great summer and that you are excited to get back into the swing of the school year.
We had a fantastic week with our incoming freshman and new students. Elevate was again a great success and the students that were able to attend participated in many meaningful activities. We also were able to spend today with all of our new families and truly enjoyed meeting you all.
Our first day of school is Monday. It feels like just yesterday we were sending out a message about graduation and our Class of 2018. I shared with our visitors today that the four years of high school go very quickly and before you know it we will again be talking about graduation and the celebration for our incoming students, the Class of 2022.
Open House is Wednesday, August 15th. We will share more information in the coming weeks and hope you can all join us and see the changes at Mountain View. We are very proud of our new College, Career and Life Skills Center at Mountain View and welcome you to come tour the new facility beginning the week of August 13th.
As always, thank you for all you do for our school and for entrusting us with your child's learning. We continue to focus on our three goals of Relationships, Rigor and Relevance and value the opportunity to be stewards of this message.

Also please note, construction is beginning on Thornydale on Monday. Please use extra caution and allow for traffic delays when arriving at MVHS.

Request For Schedule Change Process:
Dear MVHS Students/Guardians,
If your student turned in a blue "Request for Schedule Change" form during Mountain Lion Days or during the week of July, 30th, please have them check their StudentVUE on the first day of school (Monday, August 6th) before attending first period, to view any completed changes.
It is possible the schedule change request was not able to be fulfilled. If the schedule change request could not be completed, students will receive a notice stating the reason behind the denial. Please remember that all requests are subject to class availability, size, balance/teacher ratio, and administrative approval.
We ask that your student check their StudentVUE or wait to see if they get a denial notice during the first day of school, before they come up to counseling. This will allow students to miss the least amount of class time as possible. If your student does not receive a new schedule (through StudentVUE or on paper) or denial notice within the first week of school, please have them come up to Counseling on Friday the 10th.
Any NEW schedule change requests must be done during the first week of school. Students must submit a blue "Request for Schedule Change" form with both parent/guardian and student signatures to Ms. Sims in counseling no later than Friday, August 10th. Approval or denial of these changes will follow the process outlined above. All requests are subject to class availability, size, balance/teacher ratio, and administrative approval.
Please note that we will be running a Monday (Summit) schedule Monday -Thursday the first week.
