The California Air Resources Board, California Energy Commission,
and California Public Utilities Commission invite you to a Joint
Agency Symposium:. Methane Emissions from California's Natural
Gas System: Challenges and Solutions
The Symposium will include an examination of methane emissions
from natural gas systems and a discussion of the options offered
by current science and technology to reduce emissions related to
the natural gas used by California consumers.
An in-depth look at methane emissions and reduction opportunities
related to California's consumption of natural gas is warranted
given California-based initiatives to reduce methane emissions
and Federal methane regulations introduced in 2015.
Understanding methane emissions becomes increasingly important as
U.S. climate policy relies on natural gas to displace coal.
Dates: June 6-7, 2016
Location: CalEPA Headquarters Building, Sacramento
Symposium will be webcast with agenda and details forthcoming.
