U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano visited Rhode Island, touring the worst-hit areas by helicopter, The Providence Journal reported. She said more than 3,000 applications for federal assistance had already been filed in the state.

Fayyad: Palestinian state comes next year

The time for this baby to be born will come, Fayyad told Harretz in an interview published Friday, and we estimate it will come around 2011. That is our vision, and a reflection of our will to exercise our right to live in freedom and dignity in the country (where) we are born, alongside the State of Israel in complete harmony.

Prince William could be sent to N. Ireland

William is scheduled to finish his training in September, The Daily Telegraph reports. He is then to be assigned to one of the six British air force helicopter search-and-rescue stations, four of which are in England and there is one each in Scotland and Wales.
