Good evening Mountain Lion family,

We are in the home stretch. Our graduation ceremony celebrating our Mountain View High School Class of 2021 will be held a week from tomorrow. This has been in many ways the longest year and yet we have made it and have done so despite all of the complexities of the last 14 months. Congratulations to everyone for all they have done to get this close to the end of the school year.

On Friday, our teachers and staff traveled across Pima County delivering yard signs to our seniors. This was so much fun and it is fun driving around and seeing the signs in our students yards. We also held our annual Grad Walk on Friday. Our seniors showed up at Mountain View in their caps and gowns and loaded school buses. We walked the halls of our feeder schools and had a chance to celebrate with previous teachers and administrators as well as show the younger students what they have to look forward to as graduates. Another big thank you to everyone that helped shape the lives of our graduates!

A big weekend as our Softball and Boys Volleyball teams advanced in the state tournament on Saturday. Both will be playing in Phoenix this week as they continue their quest for a state championship. Best of luck!

Congratulations to Mountain View High School students Rachel Pixley and Audrey Brumfield who won the National NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing and were among 400 students recognized nationwide! Learn more at https://bit.ly/3eZOi51

On May 12, our school and the District are celebrating National School Nurse Day! School Nurses work to ensure students are ready for learning by managing complex chronic health conditions, handling medical emergencies, and promoting healthy behaviors. MUSD nurses connect families to health care providers and helped families and staff navigate the pandemic with COVID illness assessment, case investigation and contact tracing. We couldn't do it without you. Thank you, school nurses!

Pandemic-Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) Being Issued in Mid-April
It's back! The Pandemic-Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT), authorized by the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, provides families of eligible children additional funds to purchase food during this school year (August 2020-May 2021).  P-EBT is a complement to meals and snacks provided to children through school meal programs during full or part time distance learning.
Learn more about eligibility and ensure your information is current with schools at https://bit.ly/3selKcz!

New Bus Transportation App for MUSD Families
MUSD is excited to announce that families will now have access to a new, free app that helps to improve bus route communication, school bus safety, and efficiency! The Edulog Bus Transportation Parent Portal app provides families with planned time and location information for your child's bus ride to and from school. The app integrates with our bus routing system and provides notifications generated from a GPS device installed on each bus. This information is only for our traditional before and after school bus pick up/drop off and not activity buses.
The Edulog bus app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Visit https://www.maranausd.org/BusApp for download information and instructions.

Back to School Updates from Pima County Health Department

With this in mind, we created this message to remind everyone of best practices when schools reopen for in-person learning. We invite you to take note of this valuable information.
