Good evening Mountain Lion family,

Last Friday afternoon our instructional leadership team and our Mountain View administration spent the day reflecting, regrouping and refocusing. From this retreat we have identified Mountain View to be a school focused on creating a Culture of Universal Achievement. This new motto encompasses everything we hold onto as values and it also sets our mission for the 2021-2022 school year. This culture can be summarized by these believe statements:

  • We believe EVERYONE at Mountain View can learn
  • We believe you should not be allowed to Opt Out of learning
  • We believe in deeper planning
  • We believe high-quality grading and assessment should be aligned
  • We believe in high-quality lessons to ensure high levels of student engagement

We are very excited to begin the next school year and continue the momentum from Friday.

This is Teacher Appreciation Week and we would like you to consider supporting our teachers and letting them know that we are grateful for the hard work and commitment they have demonstrated throughout the pandemic.

Teachers change the lives of millions of children everyday—the impact of their work moves us beyond words! During Teacher Appreciation Week, May 3-7, we invite you to download this special thank-you card for your student to #ThankATeacher, or post to social media to tell your teacher how much you appreciate them.

If you would like to directly support Mountain View teachers, please consider donating items to be assembled into gifts for the teachers. Sign up here.
Some ideas include:

"DONUT know what we'd do without you. Thanks a LATTE"  Starbucks gift card attached to Costco muffin or packaged donuts

"We simply cannot MASK our gratitude for you. Thanks for all you do" MVHS face mask, hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, Kleenexes

"Let's TACO bout how awesome you are" Street Tacos gift card (local restaurant in Oro Valley)  or any taco place

Attention: Families of Freshmen Entering Mountain View High School in August 2021
Registration for Mountain View High School's freshmen summer transition camp, Elevate is now open.  An email with the brochure and a link to the registration form was sent to the families of all newly registered freshmen.  If you did not receive the email, and your student will be a freshman and is registered for next school year, please contact Lois Sims in the counseling office.

We are very excited to host Elevate, and look forward to meeting our new freshmen.
Welcome to Mountain View!  :)

If ever there was a year to celebrate the hard work of #maranaschools Food Services team, 2020-21 would surely top the list. Our school communities saw firsthand their extraordinary efforts on the front lines feeding Marana's children during a global pandemic. Please join us in thanking our school heroes all this week, in honor of School Lunch Hero Day this Friday, May 7.

Pandemic-Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) Being Issued in Mid-April
It's back! The Pandemic-Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT), authorized by the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, provides families of eligible children additional funds to purchase food during this school year (August 2020-May 2021).  P-EBT is a complement to meals and snacks provided to children through school meal programs during full or part time distance learning.

New Bus Transportation App for MUSD Families
MUSD is excited to announce that families will now have access to a new, free app that helps to improve bus route communication, school bus safety, and efficiency! The Edulog Bus Transportation Parent Portal app provides families with planned time and location information for your child's bus ride to and from school. The app integrates with our bus routing system and provides notifications generated from a GPS device installed on each bus. This information is only for our traditional before and after school bus pick up/drop off and not activity buses.
The Edulog bus app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Visit https://www.maranausd.org/BusApp for download information and instructions.

Back to School Updates from Pima County Health Department
