Acquire the ability to do MRIs

Get Started

================================================================================================================ Ah, I thought that mail was lost forever due to its excessive length! I wrote the method up more on the scons wiki, and I've implemented it in more detail at work on live assets - it seems to work really well. The gist is queuing up a new builder inside a source scanner - contrary to what you say about adding new nodes during the build, scons doesn't seem to mind at all - the new nodes get added to the graph and built as usual, and the scanners all get run at the right times. _________________________________________________________ This email, including attachments, is private and confidential. But in brief, this is an area that SCons doesn't handle well. The real problem is that there is no supported method to add new elements to the graph during the build (dependencies, yes, in a limited manner, but not new nodes and executors). This is a lack that we will have to address eventually, but it's really tricky, and we have so much on our plate as it is that a major new element like this is unlikely for now.
