ATTENTION Parents of Juniors

January 8, 2020                                                                                                 

Dear Mountain View Families,

Beginning March 24th, Mountain View 11th graders will have 4 chances to take the ACT. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students. According to the Princeton Review:

The ACT is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions. It is a multiple-choice, pencil-and-paper test. 

The purpose of the ACT test is to measure a high school student's readiness for college and provide colleges with one common data point that can be used to compare all applicants. College admissions officers will review standardized test scores alongside your high school GPA, the classes you took in high school, letters of recommendation from teachers or mentors, extracurricular activities, admissions interviews, and personal essays. How important ACT scores are in the college application process varies from school to school. 

Overall, the higher you score on the ACT and/or SAT, the more options for attending and paying for college will be available to you.

Students will select 1 of 4 dates to take the exam: March 24, 25, 26, or 31. The exam will be administered in the Mountain View library between 8am and 12pm. Students will be excused from their classes.

There is a limited number of spots for each testing date. Students interested in taking advantage of this opportunity should check their student Gmail account for links to each date's registration form. Once students select their testing date, their spot is final.

The Marana Unified School District Student Services Department is pleased to offer the Kinship Caregiver Support Group beginning December 18, 2019.

This support group is a safe place to share resources and connect with others in similar situations.

This special group is available to grandparents, aunts, uncles or family friends raising a child.

Come enjoy a cup of coffee. Relax and let's chat.
