Speaker: Debate won't delay Iraq election

Speaker Ayad al-Samarrai told reporters Wednesday members still had not reached agreement on new election laws designed for the oil-rich province of Kirkuk, but asserted the disagreements won't force a postponement of the Jan. 16 polls, CNN reported.

Critics question Magwood's Yucca stance

The naming of Magwood, a longtime advocate of moving forward with the federal government's stalled plans to site a nuclear waste dump at Yucca Mountain in Nevada, doesn't square with President Barack Obama's stated opposition to establishing the facility, opponents told Wednesday's Las Vegas Sun.

Lithuanian prez calls for CIA prison probe

A Council of Europe official told ABC News Grybauskaite called for the probe at a Tuesday press conference with the council's Human Rights Commission, during which he reportedly said a previous attempt look into the allegations by the Lithuanian Parliament was insufficient.

Was accused killer harassing victim?

Johanna Justin-Jinich, a 21-year-old Wesleyan University junior from Timnath, Colo., said she had changed her e-mail address because of the man, described as someone she had met at New York University, The Middletown Press reported. Police were trying to determine if he was Stephen Morgan, 29, the man charged with killing her.
