Abbas decrees Palestinian elections

Abbas issued a decree to set Palestinian elections after his Fatah faction failed to reach a reconciliation agreement with its Hamas rivals. It will be considered this weekend by Fatah's Central Committee, a presidential adviser told CNN Saturday.

Suspicions said mounting on Iran plant

'Public option' backers gain momentum

Momentum has shifted significantly, so much so that many members of Congress are now predicting that when President Barack Obama signs a healthcare reform measure, it will contain provisions for some type of government-sponsored plan for Americans who don't receive coverage from their workplaces, the newspaper said.
